Bangalore Royal Challengers is also one of the eight team in the IPL2009 (Indian Premier League). Bangalore Royal Challengers representing theie city of Bangalore (now call as Bengalaru) in the Indian Premier League both the year in 2008 and 2009. The Bangalore Royal Challengers team didn't do well in the inaugural IPL 2008 seies and they even couldn't reach to the semi finals out of the eight team. The Bangalore Royal Challengers team is bagged by the one and only Vijay Mallya,who is CEO of firm UB Group and Kingfisher Airlines. In IPL2008, Brijesh Patel was the manager of the Bangalore Royal Challengers team and Rahul Dravid (local boy of Bangalore) was the captain of the team Bangalore Royal Challengers and he was also the Icon Player of Bangalore Royal Challengers. But this year in IPL2009, things may change becuase Bangalore Royal Challengers team owner Mr. Vijay Mallya was not happy with his team players and also with their performance that's why he removed Charu Sharma in the middle of the IPL2008 series. Thee former South African coach Mr. Ray Jennings is the coach of the team Bangalore Royal Challengers and former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad is the bowling coach of the team.

Vijay Mallya had to pay around USD112 million to bag the Bangalore Royal Challengers team. Bangalore Royal Challengers team is also the second highest expensive team after Mumbai Indias (owner - Reliance Industries CEO Mukesh Ambani). Bangalore Royal Challengers has many brand ambassadors than any other IPL team. They have around 4-5 brand ambassador and they are Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, Sandalwood and Deepika Pukone and also some south Indian Actors. Vijay Mallya is known for his living spirit.
