SHARUKH IN DHOOM

srk1

Is Shahrukh in experiment zone? After spending a long time in the industry and receiving almost every praises from all over the world, now it is time for him to challenge his own work. Be it remixed version of Don, or a misunderstood hockey coach in Chak De, or in Dhoom 3, in a complex negative role. After rocking India with theme and stunts sequences with Dhoom and Dhoom2, Yash Raj Films is once again all set for a new adventure, with Shahrukh Khan this time, replacing Hrithik Roshan. There will certainly be other changes in terms of director and other crews, but the inclusion of Shahrukh Khan already created thousands speculations over the movie.

So, changing taste for Shahrukh with Yash Raj banner? Till now he has played only lover boy type characters in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein, and Dil to Pagal Hai, all of them being super hits, and Shahrukh received best actor awards for the same. This time he challenges his talent with a negative role named Rahul / Mr R in the upcoming Dhoom3, which was announced much before the release of Dhoom 2.

Shahrukh is definitely experimenting with his image for his own good. We have seen different Shshrukh Khan in movies recently. An actor more mature, more successful, and after all, more accepted all over. His role in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and Don has seen two extremely different Shahrukh Khan and both versions worked magically. Shahrukh magic is included in already successful Dhoom magic, now it will be more than exciting to see how the combination of these two magics bring miracle on screen.

Sania Mirza and Shahid Kapoor are in Love

Call it Kismat Konnection but Shahid Kapoor's love life is once agian under the scanner. So, who's the lucky girl? Is it Vidya Balan or Sania Mirza?

According to reports, Shahid and Sania are spending a lot of quality time. On Wednesday, the two were spotted remained together for nearly eight hours on the sets of director Vishal Bharadwaj's Kaminay, which also stars Priyanka Chopra and Amol Gupte.

Though Sania didn't arrive with Shahid, but once she dropped by, they were almost inseparable. What was surprising was their body language said it all. When Shahid was not facing the camera, he spent all his time with Sania. Sania spent a lot of time with Shahid in his vanity van as well.

But what about Vidya?

Talking to a tabloid Shahid says, "Vidya and I are good friends. Nothing beyond that. We shot Kismat Konnection for sixty days in Toronto. It's the first time I have done such a long outdoor. We only had each other for company. Everybody had to get to know each other and become friends."

I have had good friends in the past but probably because I was in a relationship, people never thought or spoke that way... probably because no one knows what is happening in my personal space and I have become very private because the last one year has been too in my face."

So when will he tell the world about his lady love? "I don't feel the need of screaming it out to the media," Shahid retorts.

"I will tell friends who I feel answerable to, and people who are close to me, and the rest of the world will find out in due course of time because at the end of the day, I am a celebrity and I am not going to be sitting in my room all my life, with my girlfriend," he quip!!!!>>>>>>>

Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment is going to invest Rs 100 crore to reel out three more movies this year. This includes a Rs 60-crore flick with computer-generated special effects starring the King Khan himself and two medium-budget films, each with a budget of Rs 20-25 crore.

Talking to ET on the sidelines of a Nokia event here on Saturday, Mr Khan said the title of the big-budget special-effects film has been tentatively decided as Ra.one. "We will finalise the script, cast and director for the two medium-budget films by this month," he said.

Red Chillies also plans to set up a film studio in India on the lines of the
Hollywood studios. "This will be one-of-its-kind project in Bollywood. We will require huge space for this. We are yet to finalise the location, but it will not be viable to build this project in Mumbai," Mr Khan added.

Shah Rukh has decided to make a major foray into television show productions through a separate entity under Red Chillies, called 'Idiot Box'. "We will focus on production of lifestyle shows and will provide a cinematic experience to
TVshows. We are currently finalising the shows which will soon start production," Mr Khan said.

Elaborating on the revenue model, Mr Khan said he intends to retain the distribution rights of all the movies produced by him. "We have retained the distribution rights of Billo Barber. The
cash flow from these movies will be ploughed back into the forthcoming movies," he said.

Apart from movie and TV production, Red Chillies also has presence in TV commercial production, leasing of movie production equipment and visual effects. "We have already done special effects for Om Shanti Om, Chak De and Drona. We plan to double the present headcount of 140 employees in this venture by this year," Mr Khan said.

Mr Khan said he is also open to the idea of roping in a big industrial house for co-productions in the future. "We might even look at vernacular movies. Red Chillies has a huge in-house talent pool from across India which might be utilised for such movies. But nothing is finalised as of now," he added.

Talking about his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, Mr Khan said the franchisee has made a profit of about Rs 5 crore in the first year. "We would like to quadruple it in the forthcoming season. However, there are no plans to dilute equity in any of the ventures," added King Khan. !!!!!!

billo barber........

billo barber

Billo Barber, wat is this? A movie, yes definitely. But who is billo and barber!!!!!!!!! dont scratch your hair read it and enjoy...

Billo Barber has to khans SRK and the actor Irrfan Khan. The two hot Khans dont share the same hairstylist. Dont get muddle-headed. We are talking about upcoming movie produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment to be directed by Priyadarshan, which will have Irrfan Khan playing the main protagonist.

SRK is collaborating with ace director Priyadarshan for a comedy flick titled, ‘ Billo Barber’. Unlike all SRK produced movie, Billo Barber will have SRK in a supporting role and Irrfan Khan is the main hero.

The director dips into the pool of Malayalam cinema for inspiration once again. This time, he picks last year's hit, Kadha Parayumbol, starring Sreenivasan and Mammootty.

Irrfan Khan will reprise Sreenivasan's role, while SRK will take up Mammootty's part.

The story for Billo Barber is inspired from the legend of Krishna and Sudama. The film is the story about friendship between a rich actor (SRK) and a poor barber (IK). The duos were langotia yaars in their childhood. But later drift apart only to meet again.

An industry insider reveals, ” Billo Barber is a story based on the relationship between Krishan and his childhood friend Sudama. Priyan is adapting this story of friendship between two friends-in a completely new avatar. Here SRK represents Krishna, he plays an actor. On the other hand Irrfan Khan represents Sudama and plays a village barber. The two are friends from school who grow up and drift until they meet again.”

The story is set in today's day and age. Billo (Irrfan Khan) plays a village barber. His business is running low because he has not been able to upgrade himself according to the changing trends.

According to rumors, SRK will be romancing three top actresses-Kareena, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

Juhi Chawla will play Billo's wife.

Meanwhile the lady opposite Irrfan Khan is yet to be finalized. Priyan is looking for a energetic actress like Samita Patil for the role. Most probably Ameesha Patel or Tabu will clinch the deal.

Lets see the sizzling chemistry between the two hot Khans.

This is sure a remake of sreenivasan directed malayalam superhit ‘KADHAPARAYUMBOL’

Lara Dutta in Kuselan Hindi version

Billo Barber, the Hindi remake of Kadha Parayumbol, will see Lara Dutta paired with Irrfan Khan.

The Malayalam runaway hit, Kadha Parayumbol, has spawned a splurge of re-makes in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. In Tamil, it is Kuselan, a Rajinikanth starrer, with Pasupathy, Nayanthara, Meena, etc.

In Telugu, it is Kucheludu, with Rajni and Jagapathi Babu. In both versions, the director would be P. Vasu.

The latest update is out that Billo Barber, the Hindi version of Kadha Parayumbol, will star Lara Dutta in the role of Irrfan Khan’s wife.

The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan in the role of a super star.

Salman Khan to shine in a 100-crore musical

Bollywood’s macho-man Salman Khan is all set to star in the most expensive Bollywood flick ever. The 100 crore musical in question will be produced by T- Series and will be directed by Anees Bazmi of ‘Singh is Kinng’ fame.

According to reports, Salman will start shooting for the flick from August 2009. The movie is apparently a romantic comedy with a musical backdrop. The actor has received a throbbing high signing amount for the same.

In an interview given to a news daily, Bhushan Kumar of T-Series confirmed the report and said, “The film has a big budget of approximately Rs 100 crore.
Salman bhai is like family. I will obviously want him to earn from the film and he will want me to earn.”

With Sallu pocketing a huge sum of money, looks like he has finally taken a cue from ex-flame
Aishwarya Rai who has become one of the most highly paid actors in Bollywood with her latest price escalation.

Katrina on top with six hits in a row: critics

http://livinggallery.oneindia.in/d/29472-2/katrina-kaif02.jpg

British-born actress Katrina Kaif has delivered six back-to-back hits, bagged several brand endorsements and is now a highly sought after heroine - all the qualities needed to be crowned the reigning actress in Bollywood, say film critics.

"Katrina has immensely evolved as an actress. In Bollywood, actors are mostly known for the number of hits that they can deliver. Katrina has won in that respect hands down. She can undoubtedly be called a lucky mascot for her producers," popular film critic Taran Adarsh told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

After wowing audiences in the recently released romantic comedy Singh Is Kinng opposite Akshay Kumar, Katrina has successfully displaced top-rung actors, including Kareena Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra.

Her success story started with Namastey London and continued with ApnePartnerWelcomeRace and now Singh Is Kinng.

"Last year was simply fantastic and, touchwood, this year is the same. I would like to thank god. I believe in enjoying doing the work I'm doing. It is also good to know that the hard work I have put in has shown result. I will continue to do so," Katrina said.

The 24-year-old star ventured into Bollywood in 2003 and was instantly written off because of her strong British accent. But after five years of hard work and determination, she is one of the most sought after actresses in the Hindi film industry.

Her next is Subhash Ghai's Yuvraaj, which is about the arrogance and overconfidence of contemporary youth. Set to release in October, critics are confident that Katrina has another hit on the anvil in Yuvraaj.

Mumbai-based film critic Anupama Chopra says there are high expectations from Katrina's performance in the movie.

"Katrina has had a fortunate choice of films" even though she "had a rather unfortunate start with Boom," Chopra said.

"She is a stunning looking actress and so far she is doing well with her glam doll image. We did see glimpses of an actor in her performance-oriented roles such as in Namastey London," Chopra explained.

Katrina is one of eight siblings, all girls. Her mother is British and her father is from Jammu and Kashmir who has since acquired British citizenship.

The actress spent her formative years in Hawaii but later moved to London. She started modelling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the age of 14. Thereafter she continued modelling in London till she moved to Mumbai in quest of a career in the world's largest film industry.

She has also moved on to bigger banners and has teamed up with John Abraham and Neil Mukesh for a Yash Raj Films' project. Apart from that, she will be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi's next film, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, with Ranbir Kapoor.

Besides spinning gold at the box office, Katrina also has an assorted line-up of brand endorsements. These include Nakshatra diamond jewellery and Veet hair removal cream among others.

The actress created waves when she replaced Aishwarya Rai as the brand ambassador of Nakshatra last month, besides bagging the crown of being the most downloaded Indian actress in cyber space.

"Katrina is the perfect representation of the young, trendy and fashionable woman that Nakshatra targets. We feel that Katrina lends a refreshing look to the brand. We are excited about having her on board as the new face for Nakshatra," said Mehul Choksi, chairman, Gitanjali Group and Nakshatra.

Though the actress has acquired a star status in a short span, critics feel that she needs to work on more performance-based roles.

Said Chopra: "Katrina needs to evolve and emerge out of her glamorous image to do meatier roles like the ones Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta were doing two to three years ago."

Rock 0n!!!!

Two movie reviews in a day! They should start paying me for watching movies ;)
Rock On! The movie on the whole rocks!
It may not be able to stand as a milestone or a movie defining a phase in bollywood (like a DCH or RDB) but it will touch many hearts.
The story is very predictable and even before entering the theatre its easy to figure out the whole plot just by looking at the posters outside. BUT, the way it is presented is almost flawless. The rock band called Magik is a winner of Channel V contest and gets a chance to make a music album but differences, ego and compromises forced by the pedantic views of the record company plays a spoil sport. They meet after 10 years and fight out their circumstances and egos and participate in the challenge once again. The movie really talks about how empty our lives can be without dreams and their realization. And music is blended with the movie in a fantastic way; you don't just have secluded songs trying to emerge from situations, they rather complete and supplement each and every motive of the direction. Each song is a unique story in itself and taking away any line of the song would dent the completeness of the movie as a whole.
There may be a little flaws like ... well, there are none that come to my mind instantly! Perhaps the only flaw in the movie may be its predictability but its taken care of by the treatment. A few of you (particularly people who expect the movie not to be a movie-based-on-rock-music but a rock concert itself) may get a little bored a few times when a couple of (necessary) emotional scenes are shown but the fantastic music more than makes for each such moment. The cast is just perfect, with some performances that would certainly be remembered. Rock On announces the rise of Farhan-the actor! Arjun Rampall plays a man who's only talent is music and the way he plays the part can get him a 'role' at the opening ceremony of the next olympics. He has given one of the best performances of his career and even in the 'side-role' (though I can hardly call it that) he is the real rock star attraction of the movie. Farhan is surprisingly good. This acting debut of Farhan can be compared to the direction debut of Amir in TZP. One of the surprise packages is Prachi (she plays Farhan's wife), she looked as gorgeous as any housewife can ever look and acted well. Purab did well (though I expected him to be much better), he's a very promising actor and we all know that. The things that touch your heart are the intensity of each person involved in the band. The passion, not just for music but for each one of them is phenomenal and you can see and feel it in each moment of the scene. Its not a thriller so it doesn't rivet you to your seat but if you get involved in the movie it grows into you (and would hopefully last for a very long time).
The shadow of DCH was evident in quite a lot of places but you soon realize that its got to be because of the youth appeal that it has (which it shares with DCH). Rock On is a movie thats certainly not meant for the masses. I happened to talk with a few people that might constitute what we call as 'the masses' and they were not very satisfied with the movie. Its either for those who understand human emotions or those who know that 'hindi-rock' has started making waves in the music world. Its inspiring in its own way and is a movie well made (I'm not very confident about its performance at the box office though).

SAIF ALI KHAN DECIDED TO WORK WITH THE DEOLS' FAVOURITE FILMMAKER ANIL SHARMA

It seems to be one of the most unlikely creative team in mainstream cinema. Has Saif Ali Khan decided to work with the Deols' favourite filmmaker Anil Sharma, the guy who made savage masala films with one or the other Deol throughout the 1980s?

Talk of this unlikely combination has been gathering momentum ever since Saif's under-production film Tara Rum Pum with Rani Mukherji reached the finishing line. Saif needed to get cracking with his next assignment. And, reportedly, he has.

Saif said, "Yes Anil Sharma approached me and I'm looking at the script. Remember, this is the man who made Gadar. It would be interesting to go into this kind of cinema. If I decide to do it, I'd be fully into it."

"I've never worked with Anil, or the two actors who are going to be my co-stars. It should be fun," said Saif before he left for a holiday to Maldives with his family.

And has he refused to work with Fardeen Khan in Abbas-Mustan's project? "No. I think this kind of talk started when I had to back out of Feroz Khansaab's Qurbani which he wanted to do with me and Fardeen. I could not do that film due to genuine date problems," replied Saif.

Rossi renews his contract with YAMAHA

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd has announced that it has signed a new two-year agreement with Valentino Rossi. The seven-time world champion will continue to race with the Yamaha Factory Racing Team for the 2009 and 2010 MotoGP World Championships.

The 29-year-old Italian joined Yamaha in 2004 and since then he has won two world championships, 32 races and taken 20 pole positions for the Japanese factory. He is currently leading the 2008 rider championship, having taken three wins and a further five podiums in the first ten races this year. Rossi will continue to race alongside Spanish youngster Jorge Lorenzo in 2009.

Rossi and Masao Furusawa, Executive Officer, Engineering Operations of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, signed the contract today at the Laguna Seca circuit and made the public announcement at Yamaha US’s traditional Laguna Seca party at the Monterey Bay Aquarium this evening.

Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director Lin Jarvis commented, “We are obviously delighted to have secured Valentino for a further two years. I think this news will be very welcome for MotoGP fans and for Yamaha fans around the world. Valentino is an icon in this sport and he is on top form right now as he challenges to win his eighth world championship and his third title together with Yamaha. This signing confirms Yamaha’s four-rider line-up for 2009 so now we can concentrate our full efforts on bike development and team organization to make sure that we are in the best possible shape for next year.

“In the meantime we have many races to go this season and I hope that Valentino can win in Laguna Seca for the first time this Sunday to extend his championship lead before the well-deserved summer break – Forza Vale!”

Valentino Rossi added, “After so many years spent in racing, fortunately with so many victories, I needed a special motivation to take the decision to sign for two more years. The best place to find this motivation is Yamaha, since I have a great relationship with Yamaha’s directors, which comes from a mutual trust and loyalty. In our team there is a special atmosphere and with this new deal I can continue to work with my crew, where I am part of the project and part of the development of my M1. I had other opportunities but due to Yamaha’s efforts to give me the best bike in the best environment, I have decided to stay with Yamaha for two more years. This contract means that Yamaha is the manufacturer I will have spent most of my career with. This means more than a thousand words”
