Senior IPS officer Kiran Bedi, who lost the race for the job of Delhi's police commissioner, had gone on a three-month leave to protest the appointment of Y S Dadwal, but fortunately Bedi resumed duty this Friday. Furious at being overlooked for the post of city police commissioner, Kiran Bedi considered it a great hindrance to the empowerment of women, as she was expecting to be the capital's first woman police commissioner. The aggrieved officer had however found overwhelming support from women's groups who branded the decision as "unfortunate.”
